Cops released photos Saturday of three suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a teenager on a Bronx street last week.
The three men are alleged to have fatally shot Juan Pena, 18, multiple times, the gunshots hitting him all over his body, on Feb 2. near E. Tremont and Park Aves. in Belmont around 1:25 a.m.
“It’s a shame how young people who could be heroes to this country can’t be heroes anymore, because there’s a whole bunch of delinquents out there taking their lives away,” Shery Olivo, 35, Pena’s aunt, told the Daily News after his death.
Medics rushed Pena to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved. He was less than a mile from home when he was slain, according to cops.
Pena was described as a “young guy full of dreams” with hopes of joining the Navy, his aunt said.
It remained unclear what sparked the shooting.
One of the alleged suspects was seen wearing a do-rag on his head and a black North Face jacket. The other two alleged suspects wore black hooded jackets.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
