An Australian granny who looks “half her age” has revealed the five simple tricks she swears by to keep herself looking young and beautiful.

Gina Stewart, 54, is a grandmother-of-three and has become an online health sensation due to her stunningly youthful looks. The Aussie has told how she is frequently mistaken for a woman half her age – and is dubbed “the world’s hottest gran”, reports The Mirror.

Gina puts her glowing appearance down to five simple habits that don’t break the bank but are great for people’s health. She said: “At 54 I’m not messing around – I’m still young enough to shape up and look good, take care of myself and I’m old enough to know better.”

Top of Gina’s list – perhaps surprisingly – is the humble orange. The 54-year-old swears by Vitamin C-packed fruits as “anti-ageing marvels”.

She said: “By incorporating oranges into your daily diet or skincare routine, you can enjoy these powerful anti-aging benefits, giving your skin a radiant glow and your body the vitality it needs to thrive. A simple habit like eating an orange daily could be your best kept secret.”

Every orange – which costs about 30p each in Tesco – is bursting with Vitamin C which helps to keep skin supple and potentially avoid wrinkles by boosting collagen production. The NHS says the orange helps “maintain healthy skin, vessels, bones and cartilage”.

They also help exfoliate skin and tackle dark spots, boost circulation, dial back inflammation and even improve our eyesight, according to experts – meaning this staple citrus fruit could be a crucial tool in fending off chronic conditions in later life. Gina munches her oranges as they come as well as adding them to oatmeal, yoghurt or smoothies.

Gina’s other top tips are:

No botox or filler

Gina says she has no interest in cosmetic enhancements. The gran health influencer previously said: “I don’t mess with my face. I’ve had no Botox, no filler, and no surgery.”

Water

The 54-year-old takes hydration seriously particularly after exercise. She said: “I exclusively drink filtered water from a BPA-free bottle, occasionally enjoying chamomile or green tea for its antioxidants… I [also] end my showers with a cold blast to tighten and refresh my skin.”

Gina also enjoys a daily dose of coconut water which contains electrolytes as well as potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium. However, it may not be suitable for everyone, including people with kidney disease, high blood pressure or high sodium levels.

Lemons

Oranges aren’t the only cheap citrus fruit Gina uses to keep the years at bay. She loves lemons and even uses them as a deodorant alternative.

She told the Daily Star: “I use it as an underarm deodorant and lemons last more than 24 hours better than any deodorant on the market. They give me a complete 24-hour protection without odour and it is 100 per cent natural protection.

“It is one of the key things for my health and fitness and skin especially and I’d recommend others to do the same because lemons have numerous health benefits.” Gina also uses lemons in her morning smoothies and drinks lemon water for its low calorie count and high vitamin content.

Other health benefits of lemons she cites include boosting the immune system, helping to tackle weight problems and helping to prevent kidney stones.

Getting your eight hours

Gina says a decent night’s sleep of seven to eight hours each night is crucial to her health regime. Experts are in agreement, with Dr Naheed Ali previously telling Reach PLC: “Getting less than six hours of sleep a night might not seem like a huge deal at first.

“But over time, it can take a serious toll on your mind and body. Sleep is when your body really does its best repair work.

“Therefore cutting it short leaves you running on empty and struggling in ways you might not even realise are connected to your lack of shut-eye.” It can even lead to conditions like anxiety or depression and, physically, a weakened immune system, weight gain and heart problems.
