NEW ORLEANS — Grammy and Oscar-winning artist Jon Batiste performed the “Star Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl LIX.
Wearing an all black suit, the Louisiana native put a jazz-like spin to the national anthem, playing on a colorful grand piano. Mid-song, cameras cut to many celebrities enjoying the performance, including President Donald Trump.
The song was signed by actress Stephanie Nogueras in American Sign Language.
The performance happened just before the championship matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
