NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans natives Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle performed a jazz rendition “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome, where the Kansas City Chiefs are facing the Philadelphia Eagles.

The duo’s soulful performance was part of the pregame lineup featuring Louisiana artists, including Jon Batiste singing the national anthem and Ledisi performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” with a choir of 125 New Orleans high school students.

Lauren Daigle, who is from Louisiana, holds multiple Grammy, American Music, and Billboard Music Awards. Her 2018 album “Look Up Child” made history as the first female album to top both Pop and Christian Album charts simultaneously. Her single “You Say” has reached six-times Platinum certification.

Trombone Shorty, a Grammy Award-winning musician, has released five albums and toured with Lenny Kravitz and the Foo Fighters. He has previously performed at both the Grammy Awards and the White House.

Stephanie Nogueras, a deaf actor known for her roles in the television series “Switched at Birth” and “Killing It,” performed the song in American Sign Language.

The performance marked the first Super Bowl hosted at the Caesars Superdome since Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

The game is being broadcast live on FOX on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.
