Viewers tuning in to the latest episode of the comforting BBC property series Escape to the Country were treated to host Steve Brown sharing some joyous news.
As the show began, viewers met Georgina and Bryan, a newly wed couple itching to leave behind London’s busy life in search of their dream home in Kent’s peaceful countryside.
Armed with a hefty £1.35 million budget, they sought a spacious detached house with four bedrooms and ample room of at least two acres for their dogs to frolic, including an annexe for family visits and a maximum one-hour commute to London, Wales Online reports.

For presenter Steve Brown, this search was particularly poignant as he originates from Kent himself. Excitedly taking on the task, Steve revealed his personal connection to the county where he grew up, as reported by Kent Live.
While driving through Kent’s scenic lanes, Steve expressed his appreciation, saying: “Look, I know how lucky I am. Travelling up and down the country, helping people find their dream home on Escape. But there’s nothing like helping a couple move to my county of Kent.”
He continued: “It does put a little bit more pressure on me to deliver. But I’ve got faith in Kent, and it’s a great place to raise a family, too. Well, I hope so, because very soon I’m going to become a father for the first time.”
During their meeting, Steve didn’t hesitate to express his fondness for Kent once again before discovering what drew them to his cherished location.

Bryan delved into their search for the idyllic dwelling, pointing out its proximity to London due to occupational demands: “We have to commute in occasionally for work. But, we really just wanted open countryside and beautiful views.”
On the other hand, Georgina couldn’t hold back her delight over the quaint allure of Kent’s coast, exclaiming: “Kent just had everything we wanted.”
The pair further divulged their aspiration to nurture children away from the busy life of London. Their quest brought them to various magnificent homes within a budget of £1.35 million.

Nevertheless, it was the charm of the second house they explored that resonated with them, resulting in plans to revisit by the show’s conclusion.
However, as the episode ended, the audience was met with a surprising turn of events. In an unexpected revelation shared by Steve off-camera, it was disclosed that the couple had not revisited the property.
He revealed: “They have had an offer accepted on a house with an annexe and two acres of land in Staplehurst. Welcome to my turf guys, I look forward to seeing you around.”
