EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Borthwick has finally addressed the persistent whispers about a possible romantic link with his Strictly co-star Tasha Ghouri.
Since appearing together on the latest season of BBC’s blockbuster dance show, speculation has been rife about their relationship, especially following Tasha’s separation from her Love Island flame Andrew Le Page.
Post-split from Andrew – whom she met on the 2022 series of Love Island – a source suggested that despite Tasha’s deep affection, their connection began to fray once she joined Strictly.
Before hitting the dance floor, the Strictly finalist boldly declared they would “marry each other one day”; however, the reality was starkly different as Tasha announced earlier in the year the end of their two-and-a-half-year romance, reports the Mirror.

Jamie, putting an end to the gossip in a discussion with the Mirror, clarified, “Tasha is my sister.”
Further elaborating on his stance during the TV Choice Awards 2025 at The London Hilton on Park Lane, Jamie commented, “I laugh. We both laugh. You guys have provided us with entertainment. Tasha is my sister.”
Upon enquiry if he could confirm she’s firmly categorised as a sibling, he confirmed: “Yes! We’re like siblings.”
The rumours intensified after the pair were observed returning together to their hotel post-Strictly Live tour rehearsals, which kicked off in January.
“She gave her all in that competition,” an insider revealed to the Sun.
“Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by. Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s pretty much heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”
The pair appeared to be solid before Tasha’s Strictly journey with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec.
The ex-couple were dog parents to Luna, sported matching rose tattoos, and even purchased a house together in early 2024.

In December, when asked if a proposal was on the cards, Tasha told OK!: “That’s a question for Andrew! But of course, there is no one else for me and Andrew is who I want to spend the rest of my life with.”
