Ten weeks of overnight lane closures will take place at Perth’s Broxden Roundabout for essential maintenance.

The £400,000 project on the A9 involves drainage and road infrastructure upgrades at the roundabout from Monday February 24.

The work, carried out by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to finish on Friday May 2.

It will see improvements to the drainage system on the central roundel of the roundabout, as well as signage enhancements and upgrades to existing footway and kerbing.

An Amey spokesperson said: “To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight lane closures on weekdays only, between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

“Occasional overnight weekend working may be required if operational needs arise.

“The improvements will benefit more than 14,900 vehicles who use the route each day and is set to improve safety and reduce flooding on the carriageway.”

A free Road Work Alerts service is available from the Amey website via an email address.
