Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby has been accused of “spoiling” the show for viewers. Love Island’s Chris Taylor was the most recent celebrity to be voted off the ITV series this weekend, after a dance-off against ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand.
The pair had to repeat their performances on Sunday after receiving the lowest combined score from the public vote and judges’ marks. Holly and her co-host Stephen Mulhern announced the results live on Sunday night’s show.
Shortly after the episode ended, Holly posted a backstage photo of herself in the stunning gold dress she wore to host the live show. “Night all… thank you for watching @dancingonice,” Holly wrote in the caption.
She added: “Sad to see @christophertaylorofficial leave, those skate off’s are brutal… so happy for @anton_ferdinand5 though… See you next week for 80’s week.”
While many of Holly’s followers wished her a happy birthday for Monday or complimented her dress, others were upset with the TV presenter. “SPOILER ALERT,” one Instagram user commented under Holly’s post.
Another Dancing On Ice fan who planned to watch the show on ITVX’s catch-up service said: “I was about to watch it on catch-up lol, spoiler alert x.”
During Sunday night’s skate off, Chris reprised his elegant performance to JVKE’s Golden Hour with his skating partner Robin Johnstone. This routine had previously earned them a score of 32 earlier in the evening.

Chris’ original skating partner, Vanessa Bauer, was forced to withdraw from the series last week after suffering ligament damage in a backstage accident. This meant that this was Chris’ second show performing alongside Robin.
Judge Jayne Torvill had previously praised the “quality of the skating” and complimented his pivot, while Christopher Dean noted that the sign of a good skater is how quiet they are on the ice, stating that Chris was “silent”.
Meanwhile, Anton Ferdinand re-performed his lively routine to Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca with his partner Annette Dytrt, which had initially received a score of 34 from the judges.
After the skate-off, judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Dean and Torvill unanimously voted to save Anton and Annette, resulting in Chris and Robin’s departure.
Following the announcement, host Holly commended the reality TV star: “You’ve been brilliant, and I feel like you’ve loved this even though this partnership hasn’t been long, it’s been enjoyable.”
Chris agreed it was a “brief encounter” but humorously remarked that he is “used to that”.
Dancing On Ice continues this Sunday on ITV1 and ITVX.
