The body of a 24-year-old man was found in Kilmarnock Water on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the New Farm Loch area near to Strawberry Bank Road shortly after the discovery at around 1.20pm.

Police later confirmed that there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.20pm on Monday, February 10, the body of a 24-year-old man was discovered in the water at New Farm Loch, Kilmarnock. His next of kin are aware.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
