With the recent cost-of-living crisis taking its toll on Brits, some extra pennies never go amiss. And if you’re a Nationwide member, you could be eligible for a possible £100 free bonus this summer.
Millions of Nationwide customers could be set for payouts later in the year. The building society has rewarded customers in the last two years through its Fairer Share bonus scheme.
While Nationwide Building Society has yet to confirm whether the campaign will be returning for this year, details were not announced in the previous two years until May, with pay-outs following in June.
It means customers are likely to find out if the well-loved bonus scheme will be returning in May. Last year, a total of £385million was paid to 3.85million Nationwide members.
To potentially qualify for the bonus, people must keep their Nationwide Building Society current account open until at least March 31, reports Birmingham Live.
Customers must also actively use their Nationwide current account each month up to the end of March, while meeting specific criteria which vary by account type.
These were the requirements previously set out by Nationwide to qualify for the scheme, and it’s unclear whether these will be in place again for 2025.
Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert said it was “likely” Nationwide would run the bonus scheme again this year. MSE said: “For the past two years Nationwide has given some existing customers a £100 ‘Fairer Share’ bonus.
“It’s likely, though not guaranteed, to do the same again this year. In previous years, the scheme has been announced in May and paid in June, though whether you got it depended on if you met the qualifying criteria in the first three months of the year – so now’s the perfect time to maximise your chances.”
