OAK HILL, W.Va. -City leaders are asking their residents to participate in the monthly Oak Hill City Council meetings.
Mayor Charles Briscoes says the attendance numbers in recent meetings have very low.
“Our last couple of council meetings, we had a council meeting and then we had a workshop after, and our gallery was empty. And that’s been a rarity,” said Briscoe. “I’ve been coming over here for the last five years. Before I even became mayor, coming to a few council meetings this is the first time I’ve seen it empty.”
Briscoe says it’s important for people to attend and voice information that could help the city.
“We want our citizens to know that we’re still here. We’re working for them we want them to come out,” said Briscoe.
The Oak Hill City Council Meeting are held the second Monday of every month.
