A video of a “beautiful” Scottish castle that is available to stay in has gone viral online. There is no shortage of one-of-a-kind staycation spots in Scotland.

Whether you are interested in a luxury modern five-star hotel or a peaceful cabin surrounded by nature, there is holiday accommodation to suit every taste. One Scottish influencer, Emily in Scotland, recently took to TikTok to share a video of their stay at The Bridge House in Perth and Kinross.

Since being posted last week, the clip has racked up more than 850,000 views and almost 110,000 likes. The video shows Emily taking a virtual tour around the “unique” accommodation.

The home’s spacious bedrooms and sauna can be seen in the clip, as can its beautiful views out over the River Ardle. Since being posted, the video has been flooded with comments praising The Bridge House.

Fellow TikTok users described the castle as “magical” and “breathtakingly beautiful”. However, on the other hand, another user wrote: “I will be honest, a little too modern on the inside. If you’re selling me on the fantasy of living in a castle, sell me on the fantasy.”

The Bridge House is currently available to book on Airbnb at a cost of £198 per night, plus an additional cleaning fee. The two-bedroom home, which was built on a bridge spanning the River Ardle in 1881, is Category A listed.

Stepping inside, a winding stone spiral staircase leads up to the main accommodation. The property includes a conservatory dining room, a kitchen and sitting room, and a bathroom with both a shower and tub.

Outside, there are stone walkways with views down to the river below. These connect with the veranda seating area and the small sauna, which sits in a mini stone ‘outbuilding’.

The Bridge House currently has an average rating of 4.91 out of five based on 586 reviews. It is also classed as a ‘guest favourite’, meaning it is among the highest-rated properties on Airbnb.

One recent review states: “Idyllic hideaway not too far from civilisation but just far enough to let you appreciate the calm of the countryside. The Bridgehouse was a marvel to behold, with its quiet charm, absolute quirkiness and steeped in history.”

A second echoes: “Great host, beautiful house and views. Perfect for the relaxing break we wanted.”

On the other hand, a three-star review reads: “Overall, this property is very unique. However, our experience did not live up to the cost of this property.”

If you are looking for a castle getaway in Scotland, but The Bridge House doesn’t do it for you, there are plenty of other options around the country. Some of the standouts include Mary Queen of Scot’s chamber at Neidpath Castle in the Scottish Borders and a “one-of-a-kind” gatehouse in Moray.
