DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas — Voters in Dripping Springs ISD will have their say on a $402.3 million bond proposal this May as the district looks to build a new high school.
In a special meeting on Feb. 6, the board of trustees voted unanimously to call for the school bond election to go on the May 3 ballot.
It comes amid continued growth in the county. The school district’s Long-Range Facility Planning Committee began developing the bond package in the fall of 2023 based on projected student growth.
The May 2025 bond package includes a focus on the construction of the district’s second comprehensive high school, as well as capital improvements and renovations for current campuses. It will be broken into two propositions.
Prop A – $399.7 million
- Construction of High School No. 2 (2,500 Student Capacity)
- Capital improvements and renovations for Dripping Springs High School and Rooster Springs Elementary
- Capital maintenance across district facilities
- Transportation: Seat belts for buses, replacement and growth buses and vehicles
- Technology infrastructure and equipment
- Portables
Prop B – $2.6 million
- Technology device refresh for teachers, staff and students
- Interactive panels for classrooms
In 2023, Dripping Springs ISD voters approved a $223 million bond to help build a new elementary school.
The deadline to register to vote for the May election is Thursday, April 3. The first day of early voting is Tuesday, April 22.
