A Glasgow Airport-bound EasyJet flight was forced to land over 200 miles away due to a mid-air emergency.
Yesterday’s flight, which departed from Amsterdam, was scheduled to land at Glasgow Airport but was forced to divert to Manchester Airport. The airline confirmed that this was caused by a passenger onboard requiring “urgent medical attention”.
Once the plane landed at Manchester Airport at 8.35pm, the customer was met by medics, EasyJet said. The flight then took off again for Scotland’s largest city at 8.48pm and landed safely in Glasgow at 9.44pm.
A spokesperson for EasyJet said: “Flight EZY3174 from Amsterdam to Glasgow yesterday evening was required to divert to Manchester, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention.
“The customer was met by medical services and the flight continued to Glasgow. The safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
