If you suffer from dark circles and baggy eyes, then there is one product that has gained viral status for being able to “magically” sort them out.
That’s the Maybelline Instant Instant Anti-Age Multi-Use Concealer that has earned itself over a staggering 67,000 reviews on Amazon alone. In fact, it’s not just us regular shoppers that love it, as Miley Cyrus wore it as part of her super affordable beauty routine to the 2025 Grammy’s.
The multi-platinum selling singer’s make-up artist James Kaliardos explained how he went for a “powerful goddess” look at the prestige event. This included using a variety of Maybelline branded products including the “ultra blendable” concealer.

Now, as a beauty writer myself who is somewhat interested in celebrity culture, I was not only impressed with Miley’s fresh appearance, but the budget price-tag. While the concealer often retails at £9.99, it is currently on offer on Amazon for just £7.78, making it one of the most affordable celebrity beauty buys I have spotted recently.
Of course, as a modern day working woman, who should also admit to spending way too much screen time before bed, dark circles and a fatigued appearance can sometimes be the norm for me, so I was on the hunt for something to hide these blemishes.

Naturally, at such an affordable price and a highly coveted status, not just by Miley, but by the rest of the beauty industry, I was keen to see just how this multi-use concealer fared against its reputation.
What is the Instant Eraser Multi-Use Concealer?

For those who are unaware, the Instant Eraser Multi-Use Concealer can be used to cover more than just dark circles.
Its “super concentrated” formula doesn’t just hide appearances of long nights, but it can also be used to cover hyperpigmentation on your face. Not to mention that it can also “fill” and “reduce” the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making it a bit of a multi-tasking marvel.
Its formula is infused with goji berry to ensure it is “hydrating” and never too thick on your skin, while collagen ensures it lives up to its anti-ageing benefits. If you’re worried about finding your correct match, then rest assured it is available in a variety of 11 skin tones.
Soft coverage for all areas

When I first purchased the concealer, out of all the things to catch my eye was the design of the applicator. In place of the regular wand applicator was a super-soft sponge that is designed to make it “easy to blend.”
As someone who has had issues with concealers in the past being too cakey thanks to formulas that don’t blend, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this sponge applicator is a game-changer for precise application on the darker areas under my eyes – alongside any redness on my skin.
Opting for skin tone 3, the ‘fair’ shade, I initially tested the concealer’s texture on my hand before applying directly to my face. My first thought was that it was slightly on the thicker side, which made me worry about it’s ability to be blended, but fortunately, it blended like a dream without any creasing.
I will also mention that, as someone with fair skin, my mine does have a bit of that ‘pink tint’ to it, especially in the colder weather when it can get a bit ‘wind blown’. This is where this eraser came in handy, as it instantly took away any redness, providing a soft all-over coverage.
It’s also worth mentioning that the concealer can also act as a contour, for anyone looking to ‘sculpt’ their face. While I didn’t test this myself, it’s something worth keeping in mind for any future uses.
Hydrating and all day wear

If you’ve ever worn concealer in the past, you’ll know that there are a few drawbacks. The two main ones being that it can ‘fall’ into any lines around your eyes, alongside being quite drying on the skin.
After testing it out all day where I was also at work looking at a screen for eight hours, I found that it stayed on perfectly all day. Since I do have some lines under my eyes, alongside pesky circles, the formula never accentuated them during the course of the day.
That could be down to the super hydrating formula that includes goji berry and collagen, which I think made for a “lighter” texture to other concealers that essentially sit on your skin, emphasising your wrinkles and causing dryness on the delicate areas.
Final thoughts
With an easy to blend, all-day soft coverage that has multiple uses, it’s safe to say that I am a convert to the religion of Maybelline’s Instant Eraser Concealer.
Living up to its promise of “up to 12 hours worth of wear”, it made my appearance look smooth and more awake for the entire day. In fact, with that in mind, it’s easy to see why it was Miley’s go-to choice for her red carpet appearance at the Grammy’s.
It basically ticks all the boxes you are looking for in a concealer; it instantly covers dark circles, smooths out fine lines, hides age spots and blends like a dream to cover any imperfections.
If I had one slight downside, it was that the product can be a little on the thicker side. While it does blend out well, it is worth knowing that ‘less is more’, especially for those with dryer skin types, although I myself found that it didn’t cause any irritation or heaviness.
If you want to purchase the Maybelline Instant Eraser Concealer, it can be bought on offer on Amazon for £7.78. Meanwhile, it is also available at Boots and Superdrug for £9.99.
Another super affordable alternative with a similar applicator is Revolution Beauty’s £6.40 Eye Bright Illuminating Under Eye Concealer Light. If you don’t mind paying a bit extra, then another popular option is Charlotte Tilbury’s £28 Magic Away Concealer.
