Social enterprise lettings agency, Homes for Good, is celebrating one year in the South of Scotland with a new office launch in Great King Street, Dumfries.

Homes for Good currently manages properties across Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders – and “embraces” numerous opportunities to assist landlords and tenants throughout the region.

This includes The Standard a multi-million-pound development by Midsteeple Quarter in Dumfries town centre.

At the opening today, Andrew Richards, Homes for Good’s lettings manager, said: “Last year marked a strong start for us in the South of Scotland, taking on the management of rural portfolios in the Borders and ‘The Standard’ on Dumfries High Street. In 2025, we look forward to helping more landlords and tenants while promoting improved standards in the private rented sector by working with council teams and local stakeholders.

“Our celebration was a great opportunity for reflection and looking forward to a bright future in the South of Scotland.”

Homes for Good expanded its award-winning model for the private rental sector into the South of Scotland early last year, made possible by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and support from South of Scotland Enterprise and local stakeholders.

Mr Richards said it is “dedicated to addressing the acute housing shortage in the South of Scotland and ensuring that renting a home is a positive experience for both landlords and tenants”.
