Wide receiver Kadarius Toney, a former New York Giants first-round pick, was arrested last week after allegedly strangling a woman.

TMZ Sports first reported the arrest on Wednesday.

The alleged incident occurred on Jan. 14 at a home in Douglasville, Ga., about 20 miles west of Atlanta.

The attack left the victim “unable to breath” with “red marks on her neck” and “petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes,” according to police documents obtained by TMZ. Amid the assault, Toney allegedly took the woman’s phone so she could not call 911.

Following a warrant put out for his arrest, Toney was jailed in Douglas County on Feb. 6 on one charge of aggravated assault and one charge of obstructing 911 calls.

His bond was set at $25,000 for each count. Records showed he was no longer in custody on Feb. 7, according to ESPN.

Toney, 26, was taken by the Giants 20th overall in the 2021 NFL draft after playing college football with the Florida Gators. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs during his second season in the Meadowlands.

After winning two Super Bowls, he signed with the Cleveland Browns in September 2024. The team waived him in December following a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
