A teenager has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in a Scots town last night. Police were called to Commerce Street in Arbroath, Angus, at around 7.40pm on Tuesday, February 11, following reports of a death within a property.

The man’s death is being treated as “unexplained”, though his age is yet to be confirmed. Officers arrested a 19-year-old after attending the scene.

An investigation has been launched, with a continued police presence in the area. Forensic officers were also seen examining the area, as the street was cordoned off while police carried out their enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.40pm on Tuesday, 11 February, 2025, we received a report of the death of a man within a property on Commerce Street, Arbroath.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death.

“A police presence will remain in the area while we carry out investigations and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.”
