After the Eagles defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV, the 2025 NFL offseason is officially here.

Let’s look at all the key dates to remember this offseason.

Feb. 18-March 4: Window for teams to use franchise/transition tag

On Feb. 18, NFL teams can begin using a franchise or transition tag on players. If a player is not tagged by March 4 by 4 p.m., that player will become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year.

Feb. 24-March 3: NFL scouting combine

The NFL will congregate once again in Indianapolis for the scouting combine. Hundreds of college prospects will participate in drills and interviews with teams hoping to solidify or improve their draft stock.

March 10-12: Legal tampering period

March 10 at noon will be the unofficial start of NFL free agency. At that time, teams are allowed to contact and enter into contract negotiations with players who will become unrestricted free agents at the start of the new league year on March 12 at 4 p.m.

March 12: Free agency officially begins
Free agent players can officially sign contracts with teams after the new league year begins at 4 p.m. on March 12. Also, previously agreed-upon trades can be completed.

March 30-April 2: Annual league meeting

Coaches, general managers and NFL executives will meet in Palm Beach, Fla., for the annual league meeting. Proposed rule changes and other league matters will be discussed at these meetings.

April 7: Offseason programs can begin for teams who hired new coaches

For the seven teams who hired a new coach — Jets, Raiders, Saints, Cowboys, Patriots, Bears and Jaguars — they can begin their offseason programs.

April 18: Restricted free agent deadline

This is the deadline for players who are restricted free agents to receive offers from their current teams, or they will remain free agents.

April 21: All teams can begin spring workouts

April 24-26: NFL Draft in Green Bay

May 1: Fifth-year option deadline
Teams who want to exercise the fifth-year option on 2022 first-round draft picks must do so by May 1.

May 2: Start of rookie minicamps
From May 2-5 and May 9-12, teams can hold their one three-day post-draft rookie minicamp.

May 20-21: Spring league meeting
NFL owners will meet in Minneapolis to talk about league matters.

July 15: Franchise tag extension deadline
Teams who want to sign tagged players to a long-term deal must do so by 4 p.m., or they will be required to play the entire 2025 on the tag.

Mid-to-late-July: Training camps open
Teams will end their summer breaks and report for training camp before the 2025 preseason and regular season.
