The BLAST Austin Major will feature some of the world’s top Counter-Strike teams competing for a $1.25 million prize.

AUSTIN, Texas — Tickets have already sold out for the BLAST Counter-Strike Austin Major, the first arena esports event in Austin.

Tickets for the event sold out in six hours, which BLAST said is a record for one of its live esports events.

The BLAST Austin Major will feature 32 Counter-Strike teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool, from June 3 to June 22, with the events taking place at the Moody Center.

The city of Austin is forecast to benefit from more than $30 million in economic investment. The event is expected to draw 40,000 in-person fans, 65% of whom are expected to be from out-of-state, while millions of fans from more than 150 countries and territories are also expected to tune in.

The event will be broadcast in 28 different languages, and BLAST said it expects the event to be viewed more than 220 million times globally, with 30 million views coming from the U.S.

The road to the Counter-Strike Austin Major will feature several moments leading up to the final stage, which will take place inside the Moody Center. The schedule includes:

  • Phase One, which will take place from June 3-6 in Downtown Austin
  • Phase Two, which will take place June 7-10 in Downtown Austin
  • Phase Three, which will take place June 12-15 in Downtown Austin
  • Playoffs, which will take place June 19-22 at the Moody Center

The event is part of a partnership between BLAST, Live Nation, Austin-based promoter C3 Presents and Visit Austin, the city’s tourism and marketing division.

The major is another high-profile event taking place in Austin this year, joining South by Southwest (SXSW) in March, the 2025 MLS All-Star Game in July and the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in October.
