A popular online vlogger visited Ayrshire to rank the county’s “worst towns”.
YouTuber Turdtowns visited the county as he brought back the series that has ranked the worst towns in parts of England and Wales including Devon, Somerset, Pembrokeshire and the South Wales Valleys.
Already viewed more than 45,000 since premiering yesterday (Wednesday, February 12), towns in East, North and South Ayrshire feature.
Some suspect pronunciations of Ayrshire towns were included in the review of the county which ranked Irvine, Cumnock, Ardrossan and Ayr among the worst in the county.
An honourable mention was given to Kilmarnock which was “scruffy around the outside” but didn’t feature in the list of the eight worst towns in the county.
Irvine – pronounced more like Irvine, California than Irvine, North Ayrshire – was described as a “filthy, polluted cess pit” but praise was given to the town’s Rivergate shopping centre which was “pretty good inside”.
Ayr was described as “just not good enough” while Saltcoats was a “hellhole”.
Ardrossan was “not the worst looking place” but Patna was described as a “miserable village in the middle of nowhere”.
Of Maybole, Turdtowns said: “I didn’t hate it here.”
However, Auchinleck “resembles a horror film” and in Cumnock “everything here looks like it needs a good wash”.
In the video description on YouTube, Turdtowns said: “Turdtowns finally makes it’s long awaited return. And wouldn’t you know it we made it all the way up to the country of Scotland to cover the eight worst Towns in Ayrshire.
“This is a country known for it’s beauty, mountains, lochs, Edinburgh and unfortunately some real stinkers of Turdtowns.
“The north of Ayrshire has the third worst deprivation in Scotland whilst the east of the county isn’t exactly rich either.
“I’ve tried to offer some variety to this list from Ayr to Ardrossan, there’s something for everybody.”
