Good Morning Britain took an unexpected turn when Kate Garraway had to apologise to her co-host for an abrupt interruption. On the ITV breakfast show’s Thursday (February 13) episode, Kate and Ed Balls were presenting the day’s main stories when they experienced a slightly awkward moment.
They were joined by former Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Rippon, who was there to promote her Let’s Dance initiative. It wasn’t long before Kate mentioned Angela’s memorable high-kicking dance routine on Morecambe and Wise.
Addressing Angela, Kate said: “That launched your dance career but your career was already on the way with journalism.”
Ed confessed: “I saw that at home on that Christmas and it was so amazing. What was it like? It was unusual for a news reader to do something like that.”

Angela responded: “It was wonderful and of course Eric and Ernie were just brilliant to work with and they just made you feel so comfortable with them. They were just a joy to work with and I had a wonderful time with them,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
Kate then added: “The thing is you were clearly already dancing anyway.” Angela admitted: “Well yeah I am quite flexible and like a lot of little girls I was sent to ballet class when I was four/five years old and I loved to dance and I still do and I’m naturally very flexible and it’s stayed with me all my life.”

Kate was in the midst of changing the topic when she said: “Now you want us to..” but before she could complete her thought, Ed interjected with: “Before you move on.”
Realising her haste, Kate apologised: “Oh sorry” to which Ed seized the moment to mention Angela’s impressive stint on Strictly Come Dancing, particularly highlighting her flexibility with: “The flexibility of your dancing on Strictly…”
However, Kate quickly responded: “Oh no, I was going to come to that, don’t you worry about that. We were all amazed.”
Angela then shared her secret: “I just am flexible and when I was a young reporter I remember meeting a wonderful lady and she said ‘you have to remember, your body is like a machine full of millions of moving parts and if you don’t keep those moving they’ll become stiff.”
Good Morning Britain is on ITV1 weekdays at 6am and ITVX
