The Masked Singer hosts Joel Dommett and Harriet Rose have shared an update on their co-star Davina McCall, who is currently recuperating from brain surgery. During an appearance on Loose Women, alongside panelists Charlene White, Sunetra Sunetra, Gloria Hunniford and Nadia Sawalha, the duo were asked about Davina’s condition.
The TV judge recently revealed that she had an operation to remove a colloid cyst from her brain and spent time in intensive care before continuing her recovery at home. Harriet, who also presents The Masked Singer: The After Mask, confirmed that she’d been keeping in touch with Davina.
She told the panel: “I’ve text her [Davina] a few times she’s one of the best people on this earth, she is so positive and amazing and was so fantastic with me on the show and she seems really well.”

Joel added: “Me and my wife [Hannah Cooper] have gone over to her house since and she’s doing really well and what a mad thing to happen to you in your life and it completely changes your outlook and she’s a very positive person anyway so… ”
Eight weeks post-surgery, Davina joined Dragons’ Den star Steve Bartlett to discuss her experience in a “safe space”, where she highlighted the risks associated with benign tumours.
Davina, on her podcast Begin Again, has addressed the misconception that benign tumours are without significant health risks. She spoke about setting up a WhatsApp group as a preparatory measure in case of dire outcomes, reports the Mirror.

Articulating her worries, she said: “I said, ‘Look, I’ve got to plan for it if it doesn’t go according to plan’. When I’d spoken to the doctors, they talked about things like stroke, epilepsy, these being risks.”
Davina shared her concerns over potential surgery complications such as “nicking an artery or a blood vessel in the brain and having a bleed… so there were a lot of things that could be a risk”.
The mum-of-three, who has Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18, acknowledged the lasting change her life would undergo after the surgery but emphasised how the daunting experience has spurred positive transformation. Reflecting courageously after her surgery on her podcast, she stated: “There’s that saying, ‘A life lived in fear is a life half-lived’.”
Loose Women is on ITV1 weekdays at 12.30pm and on ITVX
