Katie Price says she’s starting to acknowledge the realities of ageing, although she maintains that you’re not truly old until you’re “about 80” in this day and age.
However, the 47-year-old mother-of-five said she has begun to notice some unavoidable changes in her body. During a conversation with her sister Sophie on The Katie Price Show podcast, she revealed: “I’m not sleeping at all. I think I need to go to the doctor to have a blood test.”
Katie confesses that she hasn’t been to the gym yet in 2025, which could be why she’s more restless at night, but she’s starting to worry that there might be a deeper cause.
“This is why I want to go to the doctors,” she elaborated, “because I actually think something’s going on.”

In the UK, women typically start experiencing menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, though this can vary greatly and some women may enter perimenopause much earlier.
“I’m still having my periods regularly,” Katie emphasised, “but when I’m due to have my periods, the bed is wet with cold sweat. And now I’m not sleeping at night, I normally have really good sleep, so there’s something going on.”
For these reasons, Katie believes it might be wise to get examined by her GP: “Maybe I am having an early menopause. I don’t know how it all works because I’m still having my periods.”
Nutritionists advise women entering menopause to focus on a healthy diet filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and calcium-rich foods to help ease symptoms and protect bone density. It’s wise to steer clear of items high in fat, salt, and sugary treats, reports Gloucestershire Live.
Katie is trying her best to eat well, but it’s not always easy. She explained that since her partner JJ Slater has mostly lived solo, he isn’t too familiar with rustling up family dishes.

However, she added: “But when he does do something, it’s always good. He does nice salmon with avocado and whatever bits on toast.”
Where Katie finds herself faltering, she confessed, is in fighting off cravings for junk food: “What doesn’t help is Maltesers, Milky Ways, Wispas, crisps… cups of tea and [a healthy diet] goes out of the window.”
Most specialists concur that indulging in chocolate is not the answer to combating menopausal side effects. Post-menopause, oestrogen levels fall, which can complicate how the body manages blood sugar levels, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, irritability and brain fog.
Cutting back on sugar intake could alleviate some bothersome signs of menopause such as tiredness, weight gain and hot flushes.
