MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – The first round of 2025 indictments are in for Mercer County, including a Mercer County man charged with first degree murder.
Cory Callen was indicted on the charge for his alleged role in a shooting that killed a woman last January.
Callen is accused of shooting and killing Leona Edwards at a home on Gardner Loop Road after she exited her vehicle on Jan. 4 2024. West Virginia State Police allege that Callen shot Edwards seven times after lying in wait for her.
Callen is also facing charges of use or presentation of a firearm during the commission of a felony and unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
