A popular McDonald’s cold drink that was only available in the US will be making its way across the pond very soon.
The fast-food giant’s Shamrock Shake is a bit of an icon in America where it was first created in the late 60s. It was initially launched for St. Patrick’s Day, boasting its iconic green flavour and minty flavour.
A staple across the States for many years now, the drink has previously never been available in the UK – until now. As of next month, the shake is confirmed to be launching in all branches across the country, but you’ll need to act fast.
The Shamrock Shake will officially make its long-awaited UK debut from Wednesday, March 12 until Tuesday, March 25. Like many of McDonald’s bestsellers, it will only last for a limited amount of time, with those two weeks being the only time it will be available.
The Irish-inspired milkshake offers another limited edition US drink, following on from the popular purple-tinted Grimace Shake that had a limited UK run last year. The price of the Shamrock Shake is yet to be confirmed.

News of the shake’s arrival comes just as McDonald’s has launched a new menu for February across the UK from today, Thursday, February 13. The launch is in collaboration with popular UK rapper Stormzy who has created the first-ever ‘Famous Order’ in the UK and Ireland.
The multi-award winning artist’s meal boasts nine of the fast-food giant’s beloved Chicken McNuggets, alongside the iconic fries that are accompanied with two BBQ dips. The meal is completed with a Sprite and either a Oreo McFlurry, or an apple pie.

McDonald’s new menu will also see the return of a variety of fan-favourite burgers, desserts and sides from today. However, as with the Shamrock Shake, they will only be available for a few weeks before disappearing for good.
Making a comeback until May 6 will be the limited-edition Philly Cheese Stack and the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse. Meanwhile, the brand new Katsu Chicken Wrap will mark a brand new item for February.
The wrap will feature a choice of crispy or grilled chicken that has been coated in a flavourful katsu sauce. Wrapped in a warm tortilla, it is then packed with crispy onions, crunchy cucumber and fresh lettuce.
If you’ve been missing the viral Mozzarella Dippers, then you’re in luck, as this highly popular side will be making its way back into stores until March 25. These gooey sticks of mozzarella cheese have been coated in crispy breadcrumbs, and they feature a tangy salsa dip.

For the sweet-tooth fans, then there is the limited edition Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie. This pink-tinted dessert is just in time for Valentine’s Day and will be on the menu until May 6.
Lastly, there’s a new McFlurry on the menu with the Mars flavour. Available until March 25, this soft-serve ice cream is topped with crunchy chocolate-covered nougat pieces, alongside a drizzle of caramel sauce.
The new McDonald’s February menu is available in UK branches now. Meanwhile, the Shamrock Shake will follow with a limited run from March 12 – March 25.
