A Scottish mum is documenting her journey as she pushes her limits in training for the 2025 London Marathon. With the big race just 11 weeks away, Jasmine McInnes has revealed her morning routine as she prepares for the challenge.

She begins the day nice and early with her skincare routine to protect herself from all the sweat and dirt a 16km run brings along with it. Next, she gets dressed, whacking her running gear on and preparing to fuel up.

To get herself around the almost 10 miles, she tucks into some scrambled eggs on toast while loading up a running vest with energy gels, and chews to keep her tank full while she’s out on the roads.

Posting to her @winging_mamahood Instagram, she added: “I will never be the fastest but I’m definitely giving it my all – and with a smile on my face. Training for a marathon, or any sort of fitness event, was always going to be tough as a full-time working mum. But, consistency, fueling my body correctly and having a team of support is making every mile during these cold and dark months much easier.”

After breakfast, she does a few stretches in her yard, puts her earphones on and heads out on a gruelling jog, but Jasmine keeps her smile and stays optimistic throughout. The Scottish Family Influencer of the Year 2024 said: “Dedicating my weekends to my longer training runs means that I can often enjoy some rare Scottish sunshine and actually see my surroundings.”

The mum-of-one has a big task ahead of her, with the London Marathon taking place on April 27, but Jasmine isn’t finished there. Gearing up for a race closer to home she’ll be running the Edinburgh Marathon just a month later on May 25.

Motivated by a strong cause, Jasmine will be running the race for the Make-A-Wish UK charity, an organisation that grants life-changing wishes to children suffering from critical illnesses.
