Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan, portrayed by William Ash, is set for a surprise, according to soap fans who think they’ve cracked the code on the return of a legendary character. Caleb has had a turbulent time recently following the murder of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), committed by his daughter Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) initially thought he was to blame for the death after assaulting Anthony due to his own history of abuse, but the truth eventually surfaced. Alongside John (Oliver Farnworth) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Aaron pledged to keep the murder under wraps.
However, Caleb’s loyalty to his family seems to have vanished after learning about his brother Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) affair with Ruby. In response, Caleb attempted to frame Cain by planting Anthony’s missing tooth in his car, but the police found nothing.
It emerged that Aaron had been watching Caleb and retrieved the tooth from Cain’s car, later confronting Caleb for answers. While Caleb didn’t disclose Cain and Ruby’s infidelity, he did warn Aaron that if he reported Ruby’s crime to the police, he would show them CCTV footage of Aaron leaving the house with Anthony’s possessions.
As Caleb’s threats hung over him, Aaron backed off, aware of the potential danger. Meanwhile, Emmerdale fans are abuzz with rumours that a village legend might be returning to take down Caleb, reports Leeds Live.
Fans took to a Facebook group to discuss the latest developments, with one member commenting: “Bad move Caleb!”
The conversation quickly turned to speculation about the potential return of Aaron’s former love interest, Robert Sugden, played by Ryan Hawley. One fan wondered: “Where’s Robert when you need him! ” Another theorized: “I feel they are setting things up for his return does anyone else? ” A third fan enthusiastically agreed: “Yes! He can take down nasty Caleb.”
Meanwhile, another supporter chimed in: “Come back and save the day Robert! ” The on-screen couple, affectionately known as ‘Robron’, had a tumultuous but beloved relationship, which began in 2015 and culminated in a 2018 wedding, before being put on hold when Robert was imprisoned in 2019 following the death of Lee Posner, played by Kris Mochrie.
