Cops are searching for the Scottish relatives of a pensioner, after she died in England.

The body of Patricia Woodgate, 77, was discovered at her home address in Scarborough on January 31, and efforts are ongoing to trace her next of kin. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

North Yorkshire Police shared a post on social media on Thursday, February 13, saying they believe Patricia had relatives living in Scotland.

They wrote: “Coroner’s appeal to locate Scarborough woman’s next of kin.

“Some sad news but we’re hoping someone may know this woman’s family. The Coroner’s Office have asked for our help to locate the next of kin of a Mrs Patricia Woodgate.

“Patricia, who was aged 77 was sadly found dead in Scarborough. Her death is not thought to be suspicious. We believe she may have relatives in Scotland.

“If you have any information that would help the Coroner to locate any members of Patricia’s family please email [email protected]. Thank you for your help.”

North Yorkshire Police have been approached for comment.
