Myar Curran, the mother at the heart of Peter Kay’s ‘Lisa Riley’ comment, confessed she was ‘humiliated’ during her first television interview after the event.

Myar made an appearance on the popular ITV breakfast programme Good Morning Britain following an incident where comedian Peter likened her to Emmerdale character Mandy Dingle and ejected her from his recent Manchester performance.

Charlotte began by informing viewers: “In her first TV interview, Myar has told Good Morning Britain that she feels humiliated after she was allegedly kicked out of a Peter Kay gig on Saturday.”

In a pre-recorded segment on GMB, Myar expressed: “I didn’t mean to cause any harm, I was just showing my love as he kicked someone out but he obviously didn’t like it.”

She added: “I feel like what I said was not abusive or aggressive – it wasn’t anti-social and I wasn’t drunk. It’s just been a bit over the top, his reaction”, reports Wales Online.

Myar acknowledged not seeking an apology from Kay, although she has decided not to attend any more of his shows.

Peter responded to the occurrence through a statement to GMB, stating: “I tried to ignore them, hoping they’d settle down, but when the disruption persisted into the second half of the show, I asked the audience around them if they were being bothered by the noise.”

He also remarked: “The lady who was escorted out did bear a striking resemblance to Lisa Riley, though I don’t see how that’s an insult.

“As a comedian, you never want to eject anyone, but when repeated disruptions make it impossible to continue, it’s important to consider the experience of the rest of the audience, who’ve paid to see a show without interruption.”

The incident unfolded on Saturday night (February 8), at Manchester’s AO Arena during which Peter had to halt his gig to boot two rowdy spectators.

Reports claim that a male heckler repeatedly yelled ‘garlic bread’ before being shown the exit, and subsequently, Myar was ousted by security after her shouts of ‘we love you, Peter’, to which the comic quipped, calling her “Lisa Riley”.
