Ben Ofoedu has popped the question to his new partner Vanessa Brown, with a pre-Valentine’s Day proposal that has officially sealed their engagement.
The 52 year old introduced Vanessa, 29, to his Instagram followers earlier this year during a trip to Dubai, and now he’s taken their relationship to the next level following his split from former love Precious, and after ending a 16-year relationship with Vanessa Feltz who discovered his infidelity.
Their engagement story is straight out of a movie, with Ben choosing the iconic Bow Bridge in New York City’s Central Park for the romantic moment. It’s reported to be a spot featured in the couple’s favourite film Elf, known for its playful snowball fight scene, according to the Mirror.
A source shared how, amidst the snowy backdrop, Ben proposed to a surprised Vanessa: “Vanessa was completely surprised. They were walking through the park, reminiscing about Elf, when Ben suddenly proposed. It was so heartfelt – happy tears, laughter, and, of course, an immediate ‘yes! ‘”.
Though Ben hasn’t posted the magical moment on his social media yet, images shared by The Sun show the couple in a loving embrace. Vanessa, beaming with joy, showed off her stunning engagement ring while they kissed in Central Park.
Braving the cold, she donned a chic black puffer coat, and he sported a trendy beige fur coat.
Earlier this year, Ben took to social media to introduce Vanessa to his followers. In the first image shared, the pair were seen enjoying the sunshine at a beachside bar, with Ben wearing green and white swim trunks, white sliders, and a shirt, while Vanessa donned a zebra-print bikini, denim shorts, green sliders, and a red hat, with drinks in hand and smiles on their faces.
A second post included a video of them dining at the beachside eatery, accompanied by Ben’s caption expressing his delight: “Dubai is amazing – Sun, Sand, and Sea, and a beautiful lady called Vanessa.”
Ben split from This Morning agony aunt Vanessa Feltz after 16 years together, which ended in 2023 due to his infidelity. Vanessa discussed her tumultuous relationships last year upon releasing her book ‘Vanessa Bares All’.
When questioned about the potential backlash from Ben regarding the autobiographical content, she humorously responded that she wasn’t concerned, jokingly remarking: “I don’t think he can read.”
Now, Ben has presented his perspective, stating that there is no reconciliation on the horizon and confirming: “We haven’t made peace, and I don’t speak to her.”
The singer defended himself against the accusations in Vanessa’s memoir, noting: “She wrote some terrible things about me in her book, and I felt there was no need for it.”
