SAN FRANCISCO — Author Ashley St. Clair announced she had Elon Musk’s 13th child nearly half a year ago on social media Friday evening.
“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause,” she said in a social media post. “I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment.”
She is known for her children’s book titled “Elephants Are Not Birds,” a story that’s described as an “adventure exploring reality, identity and truth.”
The Daily Mail calls her a “26-year-old conservative influencer.”

Musk, 53, hadn’t responded publicly to the claim despite being active in replying to and retweeting posts in support of the Department of Government Efficiency, which he now runs.
He is the father of 12 other children: Nevada, Vivian, Griffin, Kai, Saxon, Damian, X Æ A-12, Exa, Strider, Azure, Techno and his second youngest child.
He and his ex-wife author Justine Wilson became parents in 2002, first with Nevada Alexander, who died at 10 weeks old, and had five more children together: twins Vivian and Griffin, 20, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, 18, according to People Magazine.
Musk also has three children with singer-songwriter Grimes: 4-year-old X Æ A-12, often seen with Musk at political events, 3-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl and 1-year-old Techno Mechanicus.
Business Insider reported Musk secretly had two more children, 3-year-old twins Strider and Azure, with an executive at one of his company Neuralink in 2021. He had a third child with Shivon Zilis last year.
