Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane shrugged off a worrying injury scare after a nasty facial knock during a top-of-the-table clash with title rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
The England skipper – who scored the killer goal in the midweek Champions League win at Parkhead – went down minutes before half-time at the BayArena. Kane collided with Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie as he went to attack a header, but the goalscoring phenomenon clattered his jaw off the Ecuadorian’s shoulder.
Bayern physios quickly rushed onto the field as Kane appeared in agony. But after a few minutes of medical treatment, the 31-year-old managed to get back on his feet. The ex-Tottenham hero clutched his jaw as he ran up and down the touchline before returning for the final minutes of the goalless first-half.
And in a major boost for the league leaders, Kane ran out of the tunnel for the second 45 as Bayern attempt to maintain or better their eight-point lead over reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen. Vincent Kompany will rely on the world-class striker leading the line on Tuesday night as Celtic arrive at the Allianz Arena hoping to overturn the 2-1 first-leg deficit in the knockout playoffs.

Kane – who has yet to lift a single major honour in his career – has notched 73 goals in 74 games since his £86million move to Munich in 2023.
