Danielle Lloyd has been diagnosed with skin cancer, sharing her diagnosis on her Instagram story on Friday evening.

The 41-year-old teared up as she shared details of her health. The mum-of-one shared the video to raise awareness of the condition.

In the emotional post, the Celebrity Big Brother star said: “I don’t really know how to say this and I didn’t know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness of this.

“Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer. Anyone who thinks they’ve got something funny on their body – please go to your doctor. You just never know.

“Obviously I’m really shocked at what I’ve been told today but I’ve been really supported by the Macmillan nurses at the hospital.”

Lloyd will soon have a surgery to determine if the cancer has spread. But as the model makes headlines, many are reflecting on her career as a model and celeb. Here’s everything you need to know about the star.

Who is Danielle Lloyd?

Danielle Lloyd was born December 16 1983. She is a TV host, model and businesswoman.

She was crowned Miss England 2004 and Miss Great Britain 2006. Lloyd was first prominent in the public eye when she was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title after posing nude in the December 2006 edition of Playboy magazine, but her title was reinstated in 2010.

She appeared frequently on TV in the years following her pageant win, and took part in the fifth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, where she was involved in a racism controversy with Indian housemate Shilpa Shetty.

The model also won the celebrity edition of The Weakest Link in 2008 and Total Wipeout in 2010. She is now CEO of a health and wellness brand, ‘wellnesswithmissdlloyd’ on Instagram.

Lloyd said of her cancer diagnosis: “Not what I expected today and I suppose not what anyone expects but please, guys, look after your skin.”

“Stay off sunbeds, wear factor 50, look after yourself because you just never know what’s going to happen.”
