AUSTIN, Texas — After sending a record 11 players to the NFL last year, it looks like the Texas Longhorns may be poised to break that record again this year.
On Thursday, the NFL released its list of players who have been invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, and 14 Longhorns are among the 329 invited to participate in the event.
The 14 players invited ties the Longhorns with Georgia for second-most invitees. Only reigning national champion Ohio State has more, with 15 invites.
Here are the Longhorns who will participate at this year’s combine:
- Quarterback Quinn Ewers
- Running back Jaydon Blue
- Wide receiver Isaiah Bond
- Wide receiver Matthew Golden
- Tight end Gunnar Helm
- Offensive tackle Kelvin Banks
- Offensive tackle Cam Williams
- Offensive guard Hayden Conner
- Center Jake Majors
- Defensive end Barryn Sorrell
- Defensive tackle Alfred Collins
- Defensive tackle Vernon Broughton
- Cornerback Jahdae Barron
- Safety Andrew Mukuba
Last year, the Longhorns sent 11 players to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, which set a program record.
Among the notable performances, the most memorable was undoubtedly former Longhorns and current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy’s second run in the 40-yard dash. After unofficially clocking a time of 4.22 seconds, Worthy’s official time was trimmed to 4.21 seconds, which set a new NFL Scouting Combine record in the event.
Worthy’s time edged former wide receiver John Ross’ 4.22-second mark, which was set in 2017.
All 11 players who participated were selected in the first six rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, which was the most of any program. Only Michigan ended up with more players selected, after having three players taken in the seventh round.
Based on current analysis, Banks, Golden and Barron are projected to be the first Longhorns taken in April’s draft, while Banks has been projected by many outlets and draft analysts to be a top 10 selection.
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine takes place from Thursday, Feb. 27 until Sunday, March 2.
