Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity has been found to have made substantial donations to organisations associated with the Democrats, despite their ongoing feud with Trump.
Just last week, US President Donald Trump labelled Meghan as “terrible”. During the previous US presidential election, the Sussexes, like other members of the Royal Family, refrained from endorsing any candidate or expressing their political views.
However, it has now come to light that the Archewell Foundation has donated approximately $600,000 (£476,000) to Democrat-linked organisations, according to reports in the Mirror.
This reportedly includes a donation of $250,000 (£199,000) to Women’s Wellness (Spa)ce, a trauma-informed wellness centre for women established by Ashley Biden, daughter of former Democratic President Joe Biden.
Other recipients of the foundation’s generosity include Jiore Craig, a media strategist known as the Democrats’ “go-to” for “countering disinformation,” who received $146,500 (£116,400).

Additionally, $90,000 (£71,000) was given to New York-based Markup News Inc. which was funded by Craigslist founder and Democrat donor Craig Newmark.
Despite this, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan defended the donations, stating that the couple are “committed to investing in people and initiatives that truly make a difference.”
They told the New York Post: “It’s important to note The Duke and Duchess did not endorse any candidate in the [2024 presidential] election.
“To suggest they’re trying to curry favour with the Democratic Party – simply because a donation went to Ashley Biden’s nonpartisan nonprofit focused on women’s mental health, or because they hired a consultant specialising in digital safety – is misguided.”
The relationship between the Sussexes and Trump has been tense for some time. Last week, the president dismissed the idea of deporting Harry over a visa dispute, stating: “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
In response, Harry seemed to retaliate during an Invictus Games speech, criticising the “weak moral character in the world”.
In 2016, Meghan labelled Trump as “misogynistic and divisive” and then, in 2020 during the US election campaign between Trump and Joe Biden, the Sussexes appeared in a video encouraging Americans to “vote against hate speech”.
Although they didn’t explicitly name anyone, their comments were perceived as a reference to Trump. Some argued this was a violation of the Sandringham Summit agreement, drafted when the couple stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
