PROSPER, Texas — Packages containing white supremacist messages were found littered across two neighborhoods in Prosper overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, officials confirmed.
According to Prosper officials, the materials were claimed to have been from the Aryan Freedom Network, an American neo-Nazi group based in Texas that has been known to distribute materials promoting white supremacy in the past.
Mayor David Bristol addressed whoever distributed the hateful messaging in a statement posted to Facebook:
“I am shocked and saddened to see, once again, the littering of hate messaging in neighborhoods in our Town. These views are not embraced by our residents or the Town leadership nor are they welcome or wanted in any part of this community. The Town of Prosper represents a beautiful combination of cultures and colors, backgrounds and beliefs. Every individual and family matters to our community. I understand first amendment rights; as a combat veteran, I fought for them. The only thing I would fight harder is hate. To whoever is littering our neighborhoods with your filth, please take your evil views elsewhere. They are not welcome in Prosper, Texas.”
The Prosper Police Department said they received multiple reports of the packets. Prosper PD said while individuals have the right to express their views, however divisive, littering won’t be tolerated. In a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter, the department encouraged people to report anyone they see throwing items onto their property.
“Let’s unite as a community and bring justice to those who wish to throw hateful bulk trash throughout the neighborhoods in the Town of Prosper,” the department wrote. “Together, we can overcome that which was intended for evil with justice and goodwill as we rid our streets and community of this type of behavior.”

The distribution of packets containing hateful materials is nothing new in recent years. In 2022, similar packages were littered across Coleyville neighborhoods. It’s also not new in Prosper; in 2023, sandwich bags with racist and anti-semitic materials were scattered throughout multiple North Texas towns, including Prosper.
