A cop was shot and wounded as the NYPD executed a search warrant inside a Lower East Side apartment early Tuesday, officials said.
The officers executed the search warrant inside the Madison St. building near Water St. at about 5 a.m. when someone inside fired off three shots.
A cop was struck in the shoulder. EMS rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he’s expected to recover.
The gunman barricaded himself inside the apartment and refused to come out.
Cops were still at the scene trying to get the gunman to surrender.
