MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – The recent weather conditions have rendered a portion of Ingleside Road entirely impassable.

A large chunk of the road is completely gone, having slipped down the hillside. The Mercer County Director of Emergency and Floodplain Management, Keith Gunnoe, has shared more on the situation in a press conference held on Feb. 17.

“Ingleside, Route 112, Ingleside, more toward the Bluefield side, that road is closed. There was a major hillside slip there, and it’s washed the road out, and the Department of Highways really has no time frame in which that’s going to be fixed. That’s gonna be a big project, that road is closed,” said Gunnoe.

At this time, it’s unclear when construction will begin on Ingleside Road.
