Royal enthusiasts are marvelling over Prince Louis‘ charming portrait drawing, which they say reveals his deep affection for his mum Kate.

The Princess of Wales and her children shared sketches they made of one another following a creative family session. Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Louis engaged in the activity designed to encourage a “moment of connection”.

The four portraits, seemingly created using different materials from charcoal to ink, were released without clear attribution. However, the caption on the Instagram post seems to match the sequence of the displayed artwork.

Fans speculate that the red ink drawing, thought to be by six-year-old Louis, depicts his mum, Kate, noting he even included her distinctive beauty spot above her lip reports the Mirror.

Some suggest the subject might also be his aunt Pippa Matthews, who shares a similar feature with her sister Kate. This artistic reveal coincides with the Wales family’s reported vacation in Mustique during the school half-term and aligns with the princess’s Shaping Us campaign to highlight the importance of early years in developing social and emotional skills.

Accompanying a post of artwork on the royal’s official social platforms, the caption explains: “…Shaping Us Framework describes the social and emotional skills which start to develop in early childhood. These skills are key throughout our lives, shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us.

“Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and – most importantly – having lots of fun together!”

During a recent visit to the National Portrait Gallery, Kate engaged with youngsters participating in the Bobeam Tree Trail—an interactive endeavour rooted in the princess’s framework—designed to help little ones recognise the emotions depicted in artworks and encourage them to craft their own self-portraits, an activity they can also enjoy at home.

In her foreword for a newly released report coinciding with the launch, the princess expressed concern over modern life’s tendency to leave people feeling “isolated and vulnerable” during hard times.

She pointed out that the resulting issues like “poor mental health, addiction and abuse” are “devastating” not only for individuals directly involved but also for society at large.

The answer, it’s claimed, lies in the focus on “develop and nurture” social and emotional skills from birth, as they form the “bedrock of any healthy, happy society”, and prioritising these is essential for individuals to “thrive”.
