A baby has tragically been found dead at a family daycare centre after “neighbours heard screams”.
Cops have launched an investigation into the mystery death of the tot. As the Mirror reports, mercy crews rushed to Balinga Dr home in Skye in south-east Melbourne shortly after 2pm on Wednesday following the grim discovery of a dead baby.
The cause of death is currently unknown. The daycare centre has been cordoned off by police as they investigate the death. At least six police cars were seen outside.
According to local media, the daycare is run from a private home and looks after a small group of babies each day. It is currently listed as “exceeding” national standards, with the facility licensed and government-regulated.
“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of an infant at a family day care facility in Skye,’ a police statement read.
“An investigation into the circumstances is ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
