Carol Kirkwood had a light-hearted moment during Wednesday’s BBC Breakfast, as she was momentarily interrupted by a producer stepping in to assist her.

Just as she commenced her first weather report of the day, Carol appeared to have forgotten the remote she needed to advance the slides behind her.

As Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell handed over, Carol began: “Good morning, both. Have you noticed it is still quite cold where we are this morning, but temperatures are actually going to rise.

“Really?” Jon asked, with a hint of anticipation, to which Carol, chuckling, confirmed: “Well, they are definitely going to rise within the next couple of days.”

While beginning her forecast, Carol subtly acknowledged an off-camera producer, before pausing to tell the audience: “Excuse me just a second while I pick this up.”

Subsequently, the producer briefly entered the frame to give Carol the essential remote. She then continued her weather segment without further ado, reports the Express.

This wasn’t Carol’s first hiccup of the week, as during Tuesday’s show, she found herself apologising after a name slip-up. Carol mistakenly addressed her co-host Sarah as Sally.

The confusion arose since Sally Nugent usually presents alongside Jon from Monday to Wednesday, but Sarah had stepped in during half term. “It’s Thursday that we’ll all be in that milder air, Jon and Sal,” Carol remarked before catching her error.

The BBC presenter was visibly stunned as she quickly corrected herself, exclaiming: “Sarah! Sorry.”

The on-air gaffe prompted laughter from her fellow presenters, but the broadcast took an unforeseen twist when the camera abruptly switched to another broadcaster at the BBC London Breakfast news desk.

Caught off guard, the presenter glanced into the lens with a look of surprise while Jon and Sarah’s voices continued in the backdrop.

From off-screen, Sarah’s voice was heard saying, “I didn’t hear what she said! ” and Jon chimed in with a hushed, “Shh, don’t tell her, don’t tell her.”

The feed then snapped back to the main studio where Jon and Sarah were seated on the couch. In a light-hearted jab, the host playfully addressed Carol as “Thanks, Helen!”
