On Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, host Charlotte Hawkins interrupted the ITV programme to bring viewers up-to-date on some breaking news.

She announced: “Marverine is here now with the rest of the day’s news, including news a few moments ago of an inflation increase.”

Marverine Cole took over, confirming the significant economic development: “Absolutely, Charlotte, thank you very much. Yes, in the last few moments this breaking news. Official figures have been released that show inflation rose to three per cent.”

Marverine further highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating: “That’s a rise of half a per cent, much more than economists had expected. That’s bad news for Chancellor Rachel Reeves, who promised to keep inflation as low as possible to help working people.”

This comes on the heels of another breaking news segment on Tuesday, when Charlotte kicked off the show with the announcement of impending diplomatic talks regarding Ukraine, the Mirror reports.

She informed viewers: “We start with breaking news this morning. Within the next few minutes, peace talks are set to begin in Saudi Arabia that could determine the fate of Ukraine and the future of Europe.”

Charlotte continued: “Representatives from the United States and Russia will come face to face to negotiate a ceasefire deal.”

In a related development, former US President Donald Trump added his two cents to the crisis, controversially implying that Ukraine might be responsible for triggering Russia’s aggressive response.

Marverine Cole recently shared her insights on Donald Trump’s stance regarding Ukraine, revealing: “He (Donald Trump) has said that Ukraine, in his words, should never have started it. He also said they should have struck a peace deal years ago.”

Following this, ITV’s Richard Gaisford weighed in on the matter, pointing out the Ukrainian concerns about Trump’s perceived closeness with Putin.

Gaisford remarked: “He’s certainly taking the Russian position on board and appears to be rewriting history. America is the single biggest donor to Ukraine, ready, it seems, to cut its ties.”

He ended his commentary with a direct message to European leaders: “That means European leaders now have to put up or shut up.”
