Coronation Street enthusiasts were stunned to discover that Julie Carp actress Katy Cavanagh has a mega-famous son.

Katy became a household name portraying Julie, Eileen Grimshaw’s (played by Sue Cleaver) love-challenged sister, making her first appearance on the cobbles in 2008 and quickly winning over fans.

In 2015, Julie’s departure from the show left viewers devastated. Since then, Katy has showcased her talents in comedy series such as Not Going Out and Birds of A Feather, and has graced the stage in various theatre productions.

A decade later, Julie made a comeback in an episode that aired this week, as part of Eileen’s farewell storyline, after 25 years on the soap.

Julie was seen at the Chariot Square Hotel by her nephew Todd (Gareth Pierce), and while the reasons for her return to Weatherfield remain a mystery, Katy hinted it will bring “closure”.

Yet, what really took Coronation Street fans by surprise was learning that Katy’s real-life son is none other than Hollywood actor Noah Jupe.

Noah has starred in blockbuster hits like A Quiet Place alongside Emily Blunt, and The Undoing with Nicole Kidman, following in his mother’s acting footsteps, reports Leicestershire Live.

Speaking to Variety, Noah mentioned Katy, saying: “My mum was an actress for a while, my dad was a producer, been an AD, been on a film set his whole life, so we’re a very film family. We’re very savvy in terms of the industry.”

Having parents with industry experience proved beneficial for Noah’s early career, as he explained: “It was very helpful with me working as a kid because my parents would be on set and they know what they were doing, and they’d know about all the different intricacies of being on set.”

A third fan exclaimed: “I can’t believe the son in the undoing is the real son of the woman that played Julie in Corrie Lol.”

One more fan noted: “I thought I recognised him! “
