A resident has been left fuming after a number of ‘masked’ yobs were spotted rampaging on quad bikes through an Edinburgh beauty spot.

Riders have wreaked havoc and left a trail of destruction in their wake at the The Meadows an idyllic green space in the capital.

As Edinburgh Live reports, shocking images show dozens of tyre mark circles throughout the green space. Locals have been left in fear with the mindless vandals driving vehicles including motorbikes and ATV’s at people.

Police said they were aware of the damage caused to the grass park in the area.

One resident said: “While walking my children to school there were multiple motorbikes, quad bikes and ATV’s driven by masked individuals ripping up the beautiful meadows grass and driving at people.

“This is now the fourth time this has happened. The behaviour is happening on a regular occurrence and it’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.

“My wife called me again this morning after this riot at 7.30am this morning and again at 8.35am.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.55am on Thursday, 20 February, 2025, we were made aware of two off-road vehicles causing damage to a grass park in The Meadows area of Edinburgh.

“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting reference 0532 of 20 February, 2025.”

Back in May 2024, Edinburgh Live reported how a mum left The Meadows with her kids after a gang of youths on off-road bikes started riding ‘dangerously close’ to locals and started spraying one man with dirt.
