One of Kate Hudson’s most beloved romantic comedies from the early noughties is set to depart from Netflix – but fear not, it’s still available to stream on other platforms.

The charming gem from 2003 solidified Hudson as a fixture in the rom-com scene after her break-out role in Almost Famous.

Not to mention, it features a high-profile Hollywood star as her dashing love interest, whose rapport with Hudson still sets pulses racing even two decades later.

Naturally, we’re referring to How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, starring Hudson as the sceptical journalist Andie Anderson, writing an article on modern dating rituals.

Opposite her is Matthew McConaughey, playing the overconfident ad executive Benjamin Barry, who bets he can make a woman fall in love with him in a mere 10 days.

As Hudson readies for her first major television lead in Netflix’s Running Point, why not relive one of her formative performances?

It’s your last chance as the film leaves Netflix in five days time, but you’ll find it on Prime Video too.

Despite receiving mixed reviews upon its original release, How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days remains an endearing guilty pleasure years on. It was even heralded as the “Greatest Romcom of All Time” by The Rearview in their nostalgic critique from the previous year, reports the Mirror.

“If you haven’t seen How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, I envy and sympathize with you,” they enthused.

“I envy you because I wish to go back in time and experience this cinematic masterpiece for the first time.

“I sympathise with you because you are missing out on what I consider a pure work of art and the greatest romcom of all time.”

A glowing five-star Google review enthused: “THE CHEMISTRY!!!!!!! It’s unbelievable how much chemistry was oozing from the main characters. It felt less like watching a movie but an actual moment of two characters in love.”

Another enthusiastic review stated: “I would be bold enough to say if you don’t like this film, it’s because you hate joy… that’s dramatic, but still, it’s a good movie. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is the gold standard of RomComs.

“Charming leads, quirky characters, a ridiculous but fun premise, drama, character growth and development, and romance all crammed into a wonderful film that is worth watching again and again.”
