AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things happening in the Austin area! From a soccer season opener to an unusual run, there’s no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
Austin FC home opener
Soccer is back in Austin this weekend!
But before Austin FC players step onto the pitch on Saturday, fans can celebrate the season opener with the Verde Verde Verde Fest on Friday at Meanwhile Brewing, located at 3901 Promontory Point Drive. Austin FC’s band, La Murga de Austin, is throwing the party featuring hours of live music and local vendors. It all starts at 6 p.m.
Then, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Austin FC will take on Kansas City at Q2 Stadium, located at 10414 Mc Kalla Place.
Cupid’s Undie Run 2025
A very silly run for a very serious cause is scheduled for Saturday in Austin. The Cupid’s Undie Run started in 2010 with the goal to raise awareness and funds for NF, a group of genetic conditions that cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
The event itself is self-explanatory: participants run a “mile-ish” in their underwear – or costumes, or whatever else they want. Runners tend to opt for red or pink skivvies, to lean into the Cupid theme.
When: Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
Where: Kung Fu Saloon, located at 716 W. Sixth St,
“Dirty Dancing” In Concert
Valentine’s Day may have passed, but you can still take your honey to a romantic event this weekend. “Dirty Dancing In Concert,” a live film-to-concert experience, will stop at Bass Concert Hall on Sunday. Fans of Johnny and Baby’s love story can watch it unfold with a live band and singers performing the classic film’s soundtrack.
When: Sunday at 7 p.m.
Where: Bass Concert Hall, located at 2350 Robert Dedman Drive
