The diner on North Lamar is offering 24-hour service for a few days out of the week.

AUSTIN, Texas — A popular Austin diner is returning to its roots.

24 Diner, located on North Lamar Boulevard next to Waterloo Records, is back to offering 24-hour service Wednesdays through Saturdays. The service officially began on Feb. 19.

In recent years, 24 Diner has opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 11 p.m., and the number of restaurants in Austin that have offered 24-hour service in the past has gone down substantially since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The diner serves many classic dishes and is perhaps best known for its chicken and waffles dish. Reviewers online have also praised their French toast, cheeseburger, biscuits and gravy and no-beans chili.
