Two months on since her triumphant return to Instagram, Meghan Markle has achieved a significant social media landmark that could spell lucrative opportunities for her future. The Duchess of Sussex, aged 43, made a return to Instagram at the start of January to promote her individual business endeavours, such as her forthcoming Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” and her lifestyle brand “As Ever”.
Having stepped back from Royal duties with Prince Harry in 2020, Meghan had been absent from the platform for a while, but her New Year’s Day comeback signalled a fresh chapter in her professional life. In under two months since her Instagram debut, the mother of two has already amassed a following of 2 million on her account @meghan, where she shares a blend of personal insights and updates on her work.
Beyond enhancing her brand’s visibility, one Royal commentator suggests that Meghan’s Instagram presence might also translate into financial gains. The Duchess has quickly gathered two million followers on her personal Instagram handle, despite only launching it last month, reports the Express.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams spoke to GB News, remarking: “Her Instagram’s has got its own appeal and she could make quite a lot of money by monetising posts.”
He added: “The way she covered Invictus. You would expect that. It has been an enormous success so when you’ve got a success you ought to use it and, to be perfectly honest fair, she did.”
To date, Meghan’s Instagram features eight posts, including a romantic snapshot of her and Prince Harry sharing a kiss, shared in celebration of Valentine’s Day the previous week.
Most recently, the duchess has been using her platform to share a poignant video filled with family pictures and footage, as a tribute to commemorate the passing of her cherished rescue beagle named Guy. Furthermore, she’s been actively promoting her forthcoming business projects on social media.
This comes just under two weeks before her much-anticipated series “With Love, Meghan” is set to debut on Netflix screens, with the premiere date scheduled for March 4.
