John McKeown hopes Shotts are starting to make Hannah Park a fortress again after they stunned defending champion Beith to make it three home games unbeaten.
The Bonny picked up just their second league win of the season in the West of Scotland First Division with an impressive 2-0 win, courtesy of second half goals from Taylor Evans and Ben Richford.
And McKeown was beaming with pride as his side gave their survival bid a shot in the arm, closing the gap on third-bottom Hurlford to two points with a game in hand.
He said: “I felt it was a deserved win. It was a good, end-to-end game and we had two big opportunities in the game which we took so I’m delighted.
“It’s our second win and there’s still 15 games to go so hopefully there’s more to come.
“That’s us unbeaten at home for three games in a row so we are making it a wee bit of a fortress.
“We drew 2-2 with Drumchapel a couple of weeks ago when I felt we deserved to win the game so the home form has not been too bad.

“Last week we had a bit of an injury crisis against St Roch’s so it was good to have a few back for this one. It has been a tough time for the boys but they give me everything, they dig so deep, so I am just so pleased for the players.
“They have been putting so much into games and coming away with nothing to show for it so to get their rewards is great.”
McKeown was also pleased with the quality of his side’s goals and admitted the second goal from Ben Richford left him stunned.
He added: “We had some massive performances and we scored two really good goals.
“Taylor Evans scored a volley into the ground and Ben scored a header.

“I don’t think I’ve seen Ben header a ball in the two years I’ve managed him and he puts it into the top corner from 15 yards, so fair play to him.
“But it was just a really good all-round performance from the squad. We’ve been really stretched so we knew it would take a squad effort.
“I felt we just kept doing what we’d been doing in the first half. We created a couple of chances in the first half but we just stuck to our beliefs, kept working, pressing Beith and not letting them settle.”
Shotts now face two games in the next week, with a trip to Auchinleck Talbot tonight (Wednesday) followed by the visit of Benburb on Saturday.
